He had stopped listening to her three minutes ago. Sally always got chatty whenever she had a wine or two in her. Thankfully she spent most of the night dancing with her girlfriends.
Tom even wondered, sometimes, why he was with her. The love he thought was there quickly vanished once they shared an apartment. Maybe it was that way for her too. She didn’t seem that excided when he asked her to move in.
One of her friends came and dragged her back onto the dance floor. Tom looked up and gazed around the room. He couldn’t believe his eyes.
Linda Lou, the girl he hadn’t seen since high school graduation. Tom thought it was her. He jumped off the bar stool, and walked across the room. She looked better now than she did in school.
He stopped in front of her, “Hi Linda.
“Hay Tom,” amazed that she not only remembered his name but also recognized him.
He bought her a drink and they took a booth in the corner. After finishing two drinks, Tom and Linda snuck out the door without Sally noticing.
She waved down a passing cab, “Cmon get it.
Tom looked back to the bar door, “So long Sally,” and climbed in the cab.
