Was it her? BJ quickened his pace toward her hoping it was. He hasn’t seen Lynn since that, long ago night, at the lake.
It was a few days before he left for college, and BJ asked Lynn to spend the night with him at the lake. As much as BJ wanted to stay with his high school love, they agreed to part ways and see what life brought them.
Most of the night they talked about their dreams, and what they wanted to accomplish. He wanted to be a doctor. She wanted to be an actress.
They confessed their undying love for each other. It was the first time for both of them.
“Lynn,” he called, once in ear shot.
She stopped, and stared at him. BJ knew she recognized him when she smiled that same smile she had in high school.
The following summer they went back to the lake to recite their vows.
