Paradise

The hairs on the back of his neck stood up the first time he saw her. Her beauty was so astonishing that he had to remind himself to breath. He needed to get to know her.

The feelings he already had for her quickly grew. He could lose himself in her hauntingly gorgeous eyes, seeing her glowing soul. Her laughter was the sound of music.

He thought the last time he fell in love was the last time he would, but angels came for her thirty months ago. Looking at Helen’s picture, he could hear her say that it was all right and to be happy.

Talking with her made him feel great all day, and his heart smile. Missing her was agony, not seeing  her for a few days, almost bringing him to tears.

She unexpectedly showed up on day and embraced him. “I love you,” she whispered in his ear.

“I love you too,” he squeezed her tight. Not wanting to let her go he added, “I’d rather go through hell with you than to paradise with anybody else.”
